About ETran
A different starting point for mass transportation.
Founded on a question: how should the responsibilities between the vehicle and its infrastructure be divided?
ETran, Inc.
Rethinking the
architecture itself.
ETran is a transportation technology company developing an elevated, electric architecture. Its concept redistributes key mechanical and operational functions through fixed infrastructure, allowing the vehicle to remain comparatively lightweight.
The objective is to explore whether this arrangement can simplify infrastructure delivery, reduce ground-level conflict, and create new opportunities for mass transportation.
The technical foundation
Concept. Protection.
Independent review.
ETran has developed its system concept and pursued international patent protection for fundamental elements of the architecture.
In 2016, the University of Texas at Austin’s Center for Electromechanics completed Phase One of an independent engineering evaluation. That work provided an initial feasibility foundation for continued investigation.
The architecture remains at the development and validation stage. Dynamic performance, integrated operation, safety, manufacturability, and commercial economics require further engineering and testing.
Founder-led development
A foundation for
a collaborative future.
ETran was founded by Joaquin Garza Muguerza. His background spans computer science, electrical engineering, business strategy, finance, and executive leadership, with degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the McCombs School of Business.
He has led the concept through architecture development, intellectual-property protection, and initial independent feasibility work. The next chapter brings complementary engineering and industrial capabilities around that foundation.
